Mayank Gandhi Biography

Mayank Gandhi is one of the prominent members of newly formed Aam Aadmi Party. He is the National Executive member of the party who currently heads the political party of Maharashtra region. Gandhi is also known as a social activist who has been an active member of the core committee in the ‘India against Corruption’ movement. He was also involved in Lok Satta movement during mid 2000’s and many other NGOs. Secretary of the Remaking of Mumbai Federation and member of the advisory group of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat between 2007 and 2013 are other positions held by him, as a social activist. He is known for inputting many ideas for the formulation of several laws and movements in India on urban governance and policies.

He is the Mumbai Northwest candidate of AAP for 2014 Lok Sabha elections. AAP contests from all the 48 constituencies in Maharashtra this time. He is the first AAP candidate to declare his candidature for the Lok Sabha election in Mumbai and is set to take on senior MP Gurudas Kamat.

He holds both B Tech and Management degrees from Mumbai. Gandhi is currently working as an independent consultant on strategic planning of infrastructure projects. Before joining AAP as a politician, he served as the Secretary for the Remaking of Mumbai Federation (RoMF) for 6 years. He was also a core committee member of Anna’s team against corruption. When bureaucrats, professionals and activists were invited to come and lead the party, Mayank too joined the team. Though known as an activist, he was accused of corruption in 2012 by the activist Kishanji Rao, as he is a nephew of Lalit Gandhi, a Mumbai builder.
