Manoj Sinha Biography

Manoj Sinha is an Indian politician belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party. He is a prominent figure of his party and also a parliamentarian associated with state and national level politics. He got elected to Lok Sabha in 2014 general elections from Ghazipur constituency and currently serves as minister of communication (independent charge) and minister of state for railways. He serves this position since 26 May 2014. He is a three-time BJP MP in Lok Sabha and a civil engineer by profession.

Manoj Sinha was born on 1 July 1959 in Mohanpura, Ghazipur District of Uttar Pradesh. He completed B.Tech and M.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from IIT, Varanasi. Since college days he was involved with politics and remained a students’ leader. Sinha was the students’ union president in the Banaras Hindu University. It was at the same moment when he got actively involved with politics.

He was inducted as a member of the BJP National Council in 1989. He was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time in 1996, and retained the seat in 1999 general elections too. For the third time, he entered lower house in 2014 general elections, and currently served as a parliamentarian representing Ghazipur constituency. He also served as a member of different national committees over the years.

Apart from social life, he is also known as an agriculturist. He has always maintained a low profile throughout his political journey and is best known as a silent performer. A politician free of controversies, his name is always counted among the honest politicians of the country. He wears his trademark dhoti and long kurta. As an administrator, his efficiency is high while working in rural sectors, and is quite popular for best allocation of funds.
