Manisha Gulyani Biography 
Manisha Gulyani is a well-known Kathak exponent from Jaipur, Rajasthan. An ICCR Kathak artiste, a performer and teacher, she is one of the disciples of Pandit Girdhari Maharaj. Apart from India, she has promoted her art form across the globe. She is a recipient of numerous awards and honours such as OMI International Dance Residency award USA 2007, ISFI Gold Award by International Sufi Festival Ajmer 2012, Youth Icon Award 2014 in Arts at Jaipur and Ficci Flo woman of the year award 2015. She is also a recipient of National research fellowship and National scholarship both junior and senior from Government of India. Apart from Katak, she also performs different folk dance forms.
Manisha was born and brought up in Jaipur. She was born in 1985. She started her formal lessons in Kathak at the age of 7 from Jaipur Kathak Kendra, and later received training from Girdhari Maharaj. She follows Jaipur Gharana. She also took advanced learning in Kathak dance form from different art schools of India. She is still being groomed by Pt. Girdhari Maharaj. She is married to Lokesh Gulyani and has one child.
Manisha has performed on stage, a composition 'Vande Mataram' under the Direction of Pt. Birju Maharaj. She has also choreographed one Chinese movie, and regularly conducts workshops. She is quite active in dance shows, festivals and cultural events. She is also a folk dancer, who performs in Dandiya, Ghoomer, Gidda, Kashmiri-Doongri, Chari, Kalbeliya, Mand, Gair, Garba, Pahari, Bengali, Odiya and few Tribal dances too. Well known for her refine movements, expression & dexterity over rhythm, she is one of the finest artists of present day generation. She also experiments with different styles of Kathak dance form.
