M. P. Abdussamad Samadani Biography 
M. P. Abdussamad Samadani is an Indian politician and scholar from the state of Kerala. He is also an orator, thinker, writer and academician. After Shashi Tharoor, he is the most educated and eminent politician from the state of Kerala, who holds many degrees apart from deep knowledge in several languages and subjects. He has served two terms in Rajya Sabha from 1994 to 2006, and has been an elected member of Kerala legislative assembly in 2011, where he served a term of 5 years. He represents Indian Union Muslim League.
He hails from Kottackal of Malappuram district, Kerala. brilliant in academics, he holds a series of educational degrees. He completed B.A. with First Rank, M.A. with Second Rank, M.Phil from Calicut University, PhD from JNU, followed by LLB from Government Law College, Kozhikode. Quite interestingly he introduces Guru Nithyachaitanya Yati and Kunjan Namboodiri of Maraakkara as his gurus and mentors, apart from his father, a great inspirational figure of his life. He has deep knowledge in science, art, culture, language, literature, history, religion and politics, and can deliver speeches on any of these subjects. He is also well versed in languages such as Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, English, Sanskrit and Malayalam, and a scholar too.
He got nominated to Rajya Sabha to the Upper House of Indian Parliament in 1994 and re-elected in year 2000. He remained Convener of Parliamentary Sub-Committee on Universities and Higher Education during 2002-2004. While serving as a parliamentarian in Rajya Sabha, he has served as a member of Central Advisory Board of Education, Parliamentary Committee on Human Resource Development and Parliamentary Committee on Health and Family Welfare, and many other committees. He has also remained as a member of Malappuram District Council, Kerala Sahitya Academy and Kerala Kala Mandalam.
