M. B. Rajesh Biography

M. B. Rajesh is a politician from Kerala, who currently serves as Member of Parliament representing Palakkad constituency. He is a member of the CPI (M) political party. He is an advocate by profession. Rajesh is also an author who published the books, Charithram Avare Kuttakarennu Vilikkum, Agolavatkaranathinate Virudha Lokangal and Agola Sampathika Prathisandhiyude Manangal. All these are non-fictional works, and collection of articles he published in different publications. He is also an Agriculturist, Social Worker and Sportsperson. He is a two-term MP from Palakkad constituency, winning the election for the first time in 2009.

M. B. Rajesh was born in Jalandhar, Punjab on 12 March 1971 to Malayali parents. He is the eldest son of Balakrishnan Nair and M. K. Remani. His ancestral home belongs to Shornur in Palakkad District of Kerala. Rajesh completed his LLB from University of Kerala, and also took his Master’s in Economics from the NSS College, Ottapalam of Palakkad district. Currently he practises law. Rajesh is associated with students’ politics since school days, and he is married to R. Ninitha, who was also associated with student’s wing of Communist party of India, SFI. Rajesh has been a member of SFI since school days, and has been associated with many political activities as a students’ leader.

He later joined as a member of DYFI, and later became a member of the Kerala state committee of Communist Party of India (Marxist). He contested Lok Sabha elections for the first time in 2009 from Palakkad constituency and got elected too. Palakkad constituency is politically prominent as it has remained a vote-bank of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) since the years of its growth. He retained the seat in 2014 Lok Sabha elections too.
