Konakalla Narayana Rao Biography 
Konakalla Narayana Rao is an Indian politician who currently serves as Member of Parliament in 16th Lok Sabha. He hails from Machilipatnam of Andhra Pradesh, and represents Telugu Desam Party. In 2009 also, he got elected to Lok Sabha from the same constituency. This leader is a patron of arts, who promote theater and plays, and often organize cultural events in his hometown to promote art and theatre. Rao always remained a leader for lower classes of the society, and it helped him to earn a celebrity status in his community as well as lower caste people.
Konakalla Narayana Rao’s hometown is Machilipatnam of Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh. He was born on 4 May 1950 as the child of Ganapathi and Kasi Eshwaramma. He was married to Padmaja since 1975 and has two sons, Kiran Ganapathi and Chaithanya Ganapathi. Rao started his career as a contractor. He was also an agriculturist. A member of Gowda caste, he kept close relations with lower class and caste people of Machilipatnam and also those related to farming, which helped him to emerge as a people’s leader. He strived for the livelihoods of the poor and backward classes in his community, apart from working for fishermen, scheduled castes and tribes.
He served as the president of the National Mazdoor Trade Union at the RTC Depot of Machilipatnam for long 30 years. As a politician, he closely worked with Telugu Desam Party, and has been elected to parliament twice representing the same party. It came to be a big surprise to everyone, when he got elected for the first time in 2009. He retained the same seat in 2014 Lok Sabha elections too.
