Keshari Nath Tripathi Biography 
Keshari Nath Tripathi is an Indian politician belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party, who currently serves as the 24th Governor of West Bengal since 2014. He also held the additional charge as governor of Bihar for a brief period during 20 June 2017 – 29 September 2017. Prior to his appointment as the governor of West Bengal, he served as the Governor of Meghalaya for a brief period of 6 January 2015 – 19 May 2015. He is one of the most senior BJP politicians of the country, who has earlier served as the speaker of Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly and also the president of Uttar Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party. He has been quite active in state politics, and has served as MLA multiple times and state minister too.
Keshari Nath Tripathi was born on 10 November 1934 in Allahabad, United Provinces of British India. He was born to Pandit Harish Chandra Tripathi and Shiva Devi. Sudha Tripathi is his wife, and he has three children. Tripathi got into active politics since 1970s, and got elected to state assembly for the first time in 1977. He remained a cabinet minister during his first tenure in state assembly. Since then he has become MLA for 6 times. For the second term, he got elected in the year 1989 and served the state continuously for 5 state assemblies. He remained a very influential leader with state politics, who served as speaker in state assembly three times (1991-1993, 1997-2002 and 2002-2004).
Apart from his active political journey, he has been a Senior Advocate at Allahabad High Court. He is also a poet and author, who owns many published books to his name. Manonukriti and Aayu Pankh are among his well-noticed literary contributions. Currently he serves as Governor of West Bengal since 2014.
