Kaushal Kishore Biography

Kaushal Kishore is an Indian politician from the state of Uttar Pradesh, affiliated to Bharatiya Janata Party. He currently serves as a parliamentarian in the 17th Lok Sabha headed by Narendra Modi, and represents Mohan Lalganj constituency, Uttar Pradesh. It’s his second term representing Mohan Lalganj constituency, and he retained his seat in 2019 general elections, defeating Congress candidate. Kishore served as an MLA from Malihabad constituency in 2002. In 2002-2003 he also served a minister of state in Mulayam Singh's state government.

Kaushal Kishore was born on 25 January 1960 in Kakori, Uttar Pradesh. He was born into a farmer’s family belonging to a schedule caste, Pasi to Kallu Prasad and Parvati Devi. The family owned a small piece of land and they used it for farming. But it was not sufficient to provide the financial support of the family. He was average in academics, but was fond among villagers and known to be a brave person. He also won others’ hearts for his honesty and inquisitive mind. He used to speak during disputes, and also stood with students who faced exploitation and discrimination, mainly due to caste and economic status. He even stopped his father if he doesn’t give due respect to his mother.

He completed his studies till intermediate, and discontinued it because of family problems, labourers and cultivators' causes etc. His village is very remote without proper roads and communication, and he used to visit administrators’ frequently for solving villagers’ problems. From there on he rose to prominence as a local leader and later joined parliament twice as an MP. He has formerly served as a member of Standing Committee on Home Affairs and Consultative Committee in Ministry of Labour and Employment.
