Kalyani Potdar Biography 
Kalyani Potdar, also known as Kalyani Potdar Joshi is a trained Hindustani vocalist and actress of Marathi movies and theatre. She was born in a musical family to Pandit Jayaram Potdar and his wife Maithili Potdar and both are singers. She is the granddaughter of Nana Rayrikar a renowned Marathi Actor. Her husband Vighnesh Joshi is also a noted musician, singer and actor. Apart from a successful singing career and theater and movies, she was also seen in Doordarshan serial, Maarva. She acted aside her husband in the musical serial. The couple has one son Yash Joshi, who is also blessed with singing talents.
She was born to Pandit Jayaram Potdar and Maithili Potdar. Her father is an accomplished singer, harmonium player and known for his contributions to Marathi Sangeet Nataks. She completed her Master’s from Delhi University. As a trained singer she took formal training in Hindustani music under many renowned gurus and is at present training under Dr. Suhasini Koratkar of Bhindi Bazar Gharana. Similar to her father she is associated with Sangeet nataks, the most popular ones being - Sangeet Kanhopatra, Sangeet Vidhyaharan, Sangeet Murchchakatik, Sant Gora Kumbhar etc. Acharya Atre's ‘To Mee Navhech' has been staged for more than 3000 times.
She was also appreciated for the famous Natak 'Shat Janma Shodhitanna' whose music was given by Hrudaynath Mangeshkar. She received a playback award from Lata Mangeshkar in 2009 for the role. As a television actress, she is best known for portraying the role of Janabai, wife of Sant Namdev in serial Sant Namdev. The show was aired on ZEE Marathi.
