K. Pandiarajan Biography

K. Pandiarajan is a politician from Tamil Nadu, and also a businessman by profession. He is an MLA of state legislature of Tamil Nadu at present, and currently serves as a cabinet minister too. He serves as the Minister for Tamil Official Language, Tamil Culture and Archaeology since 2017. Prior to it, he served as Minister for School Education, Youth Affairs and Sports under the leadership of J. Jayalalithaa and O. Panneerselvam. He belongs to All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and currently represents Avadi constituency. He has represented the cabinet of J. Jayalalithaa, O. Panneerselvam earlier, as well as the current CM of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K. Palaniswami.

K. Pandiarajan hails from Villampatti, Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu. He was born on 26 April 1959 in a poor family of Sivakasi. His father worked in a local match factory, and he died when K. Pandiarajan was just three months old. Later he was brought up by his mother and maternal grandparents. He schooled from Sivakasi Hindu Nadar Victoria School, Sivakasi, and completed his engineering degree from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. He also completed MBA from Jamshedpur in 1984. He worked in an industrial gas multi-national BOC Group and later Deutsche Babcock in the 1980s.

He co-founded Ma Foi Management Consultants along with his wife in 1992, and began his career as a businessman. Through his organization he hired middle-level and managerial people to other countries. He launched Ma Foi Strategic Consultants Pvt. Ltd in 2012 with an initial investment of 25 crores within three years. His active political career began in 2000, when he joined Bharatiya Janata Party. Later he joined Vijayakanth’s DMDK party, and successfully contested 2011 state assembly elections. He got elected from Virdhunagar constituency. In 2013 he switched to AIADMK, and successfully contested 2016 elections too. Currently he is a cabinet minister.
