Girish Kohli is a successful screen writer associated with Bollywood who came to limelight in the recent times, after his screenplay for Sridevi’s 300^th and final release, Mom got noticed. The film released in 2017 was critically well appreciated and the movie was a box office hit too. It was a revenge drama and women-centric film, where mother of a rape victim take revenge on those who committed the crime. He is also a successful writer, whose debut book, Marathon Baba, was one of the best-selling books of 2012 in India. The book was listed at no. 13 on the Nielsen’s Top 50 Bestseller charts in India the same year. He is a software engineer who gave up his job to completely concentrate in writing.

Girish Kohli was born on November 29, 1983 in Mumbai. After his studies in IT engineering, he took a full-time job. However his passion towards writing prompted him to quit his corporate job and he resumed to writing full-time. His debut book, Marathon Baba published in the year 2012 brought him much flame, and he remained in limelight after that. The book hit the bestseller list and readers across the country have taken a liking to this new genre of psychedelic fiction, published by Fingerprint publication. Marathon Baba was a tale about the cult of a man who could neither stop running, nor prevent millions from making a god out of him, and an imaginative Indian satire on idol-worship and religion.

Before he published his debut book, Marathon Baba, he earlier wrote three books, but rejected by different publishers for various reasons. When he finally succeeded in publishing those works, he felt that his work was not perfect and he started working once again. Marathon Baba was first shown to Fingerprint publication and they accepted the project. After the success of Mom – the Bollywood film, he is busy writing screenplay for a few movies too.
