G. M. Siddeshwara Biography 
G. M. Siddeshwara is a prominent political leader of Indian National level politics, and Karnataka regional politics. A member of the 16th Lok Sabha, representing Davangere constituency of Karnataka, he belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party. He has been elected from Davangere Constituency for three terms consecutively since 14th Lok Sabha elections in 2004. In the 16th Lok Sabha, under the power of Narendra Modi, he has served as Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation during 26 May 2014 – 9 November 2014 followed by Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises during 9 November 2014 – 12 July 2016 in the reshuffle, and was later dropped out. He served as the National Parliamentary Party Treasurer of BJP during 2004 – 2014, for a term of 10 years.
Gowdara Mallikarjunappa Siddeshwara, shortly called G. M. Siddeshwara was born on 5 July 1952 in Chitradurga, Mysore State, before states were divided. He is the son of G. Mallikarjunappa, a political leader who served two terms as parliamentarian during 1996-1998 and 1999-2003. Siddeshwara remained active in RSS as a student leader before he joined Bharatiya Janata Party. Siddeshwara rose to prominence in the 2000s, and reached the position of Vice-President of the Karnataka State for a term of one year in 2009-2010.
He got elected to Lok Sabha for the first time in 2004 from Davangere Constituency. He retained the seat in 2009 and 2014 general elections too. Siddeshwara also served as a committee member of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Finance, Water Resources, Human Resource Development etc during his tenure as a parliamentarian. He is married to G. S. Gayithri, and the couple has two children.
