Divya Jagdale Biography 
Divya Jagdale is an actress and writer associated with Bollywood and Marathi cinema. She has played supporting roles in Bollywood films - Straight from the Heart (1999), Gulaab Gang (2014) and Stanley Ka Dabba (2011). Right now she is one of the accomplished stage actresses on Mumbai Stage and has also played a few television roles. She has also shot a few shot films and two of her films have been screened at an international film festival. Her husband Shiv Subramaniam is a screen writer and Divya too pens scripts for movies and theatre productions. Some of her plays include - What A Lota, Avinash, Miss Beautiful, Dreams of Taleem etc.
She has been frequently associated with Makrand Deshpande for stage plays. She worked with Makrand for the plays - What A Lota and Miss Beautiful. She also acted in Makarand Deshpande's film - Miss Sundari, which won her critical acclaim. The actress feels that inspiration for acting can come from anywhere. She started her career with television in the 1990s, though she slowly shifted to theatre later. Shuffled between the roles, she got bored with television. Once she accompanied Heeba Shah to Pritvi Theatre and watched Dubey’s rehearsals with Jaimini Pathak, with Inayat and Hidaayat Sami, which gave her good impressions of theatre. It was during the time 1996-1997 and slowly she shifted to theatre.
In Makrand Deshpande's Miss Beautiful, she delivered a subtle performance of an elderly woman. She played the role of a teacher in Amole Gupte’s highly appreciated film - Stanley Ka Dabba (2011). Sons of both Divya and Amole studied in the same school and Amole Gupte was actively involved in the PTA. He once approached her with the role of a teacher for his debut film - Stanley Ka Dabba, and she accepted it.
