C. B. Geetha Biography

C. B. Geetha is an Indian politician from Thrissur, Kerala. She is the daughter of veteran Congress leader and politician, C. N. Balakrishnan, who has also served as MLA and state minister in Oommen Chandy ministry. Following her father’s footsteps, she too reached politics, and currently is associated with Indian National Congress. She serves as a municipal councillor of the Thrissur, and she represents Olarikara ward. She is the General Secretary of the Thrissur District Congress Committee and also serves as the President of the Thrissur District Mahila Cooperative Society. She is now widely regarded as a versatile upcoming politician with good principles and ideology.

C. B. Geetha hails from Thrissur, Kerala. She belongs to a family with strong political background, affiliated to Thrissur. Her father C. N. Balakrishnan is a senior leader of Indian National Congress and quite a popular figure within state politics. He served as the minister for Co-operation, Khadi and Village Industries and Pollution Control in the previous Oommen Chandy Ministry. Balakrishnan is a strong leader in Cooperative unions, and has closely worked with K. Karunakaran for 50 years. Thankamany teacher is her mother and she has one younger sister Mini Balram.

Geetha got drawn to politics since young. She was brought up in a political atmosphere, and she was drawn towards social activities since early days. Since college days she has been associated with various NGO's as well as youth congress activities. She completed her graduation in computer science. After that she got fully involved with social activities, and she focussed on matters related to women empowerment. She was instrumental in establishing the first Mahila Service cooperative society service in Thrissur for this purpose.
