Asim Ahmed Khan Biography

Asim Ahmed Khan is in news for ouster from the post of Minister from Delhi State Government on corruption charges a rare case i an Indian politics. Asim Ahmed Khan was born on 20 March 1976 in the family of Shamin Ahmed Khan in Meerut district of UP but shifted to Delhi later.  He got a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from the Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut in 2010. Khan is a businessman by profession and is married to Lubna Sadaf Khan also has a business woman. 

Asim Ahmed Khan a member of the minority wing of the Aam Aadmi Party was the minister of Food and Civil Supply, Environment and Forest, Minority affairs in the Delhi government. He was elected from  a member of the Aam Aadmi Party Matia Mahal (Assembly constituency) for Delhi Legislative Assembly.  

Asim Ahmad Khan had contested the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections in 2012 and according to his records he has been working for 12 years in Old Delhi area having participated in various social activities.

After winning from Matia Mahal in 2015 Delhi Assembly Khan raises and worked for multiple issues including that of education and health despite having almost no experience in politics but he won as the Aam Admi Party won 67 out of the total 70 seats in the Delhi assembly.

Asim Ahmad Khan also known as Mohmmad Asim Ahmad Khan according to his school certificates is one of four Muslim MLAs of the party. According to one leading economical newspaper Asim Ahmad Khan was "key" to AAP, which brought majority of the Muslim votes that lead to party win the 2015 election. According to Economis Times Asim Ahmad Khan and minority wing of the party were mainly responsible bringing the Muslim votes which otherwise go to Congress party.

Khan was given the post of a cabinet minister for Food and Civil Supply, Environment and Forest, Minority affairs and Election ministries.in Arvind Kejriwal's cabinet. He was fired from the ministry on 9th October, 2015, by Arvind Kejriwal on charges of corruption.
