Arushi Nishank Biography 
Arushi Nishank is a noted Kathak artist of present generation. She is also a teacher, poetess, entrepreneur and film producer. She is also a producer and composer of many art productions. She is the daughter of Ramesh Pokhriyal, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. She is an A-graded artist for Doordarshan, regular with her live concerts too. She earned the Kathak dance form from the renowned artists, Pandit Birju Maharaj and Dr. Poornima Pandey. Arushi educated from Metropolitan College of Toronto and IMS Unison University. She is a recipient of YI National Youth Icon Award 2015, Garhwal Post Outstanding Achievement Award 2016, Pride of Uttarakhand Award 2016, Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman Award 2018 and Most Iconic NRI Award, Dubai, 2018.
Arushi Nishank hails from a political family in Kotdwar, Uttarakhand. Her father Ramesh Pokhriyal remains a prominent politician in the national level politics, and has served as a parliamentarian and Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. Her mother is Kusum Kanta Pokhriyal. Arushi is married to Abhinav Pant. She completed her graduation in politics and later took MBA. Currently she is pursuing her PhD in HR. Arushi is a regular performer at dance festivals in different parts of the country and has also delivered performances outside India. She has also worked in TV ads of Patanjali products.
Arushi has published two books on poetry collections, Swarg Banaungi and Kamal Mashal Ban Jaye. In 2018 she turned a film producer, and financed for the regional film, "Major Nirala", based on a novel written by her father. She produced a Kathak ballet, Ganga Avataran which told about the story of Ganga. The show was performed by 60 artists on stage and was well received. Later she was invited to Rashtriya Kathak Sansthan Lucknow to give her performance.
