Arasakumar B. T Biography

Arasakumar B. T is a well-known politician from Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu. He is a prominent Bharatiya Janata Party leader from South India, who also owns heads a chain of educational institutions. He currently serves as the vice president of BJP for Tamil Nadu state. As an administrator, he has held positions such as Chairman of BTK group of institutions, President of All India Non-Government Organization’s Association and President of All India Private Educational Institution Association. He started off his political career in 2001 by founding Dravida Vizhipunarchi Kazhagam.

Arasakumar B. T hails from Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu. Maruthanthalai is his hometown. He did his schooling from Government Higher Secondary School, Manapparai, Trichy. Later he completed MA in History from Annamalai University. His active political career began in 2001 when he founded a new regional party, Dravida Vizhipunarchi Kazhagam. He showed signs of a great leader and also served as panchayat president in his hometown. He started attending local political meetings of his village as a child, as he was interested in politics right from childhood.  

He first contested state assembly elections in 2006 representing his hometown. In 2014 he contested Lok Sabha elections in Ramanathapuram district under Desiya Forward Bloc. In 2016 state assembly elections, he contested as BJP candidate from Ramanathapuram. He has been quite active in regional politics, strengthening BJP within the state and rose to the position of Vice-President in Tamil Nadu.

Apart from his career as a politician, he also holds the administrative position of numerous institutions. As a politician he has spearheaded many developments in his village Panayampatti, and earned popularity among the masses. Also known as an educator, he expanded schools and made higher education possible for his people. He is married to Kokila. Both his daughter and son-in-law are doctors.
