As a withdrawn, disabled girl in Glass Menagerie is one of her breakthrough performances. It was followed by ‘Seascape with Sharks’ and ‘Solo’.

The daughter of thespians Vijaya and Farrokh Mehta, she knew from the early stage of life itself that she is chosen for stage. Uberoi's own productions are refreshingly unpretentious, with well-polished scripts which narrate new stories, an exception to sex comedies and tired re-runs of Broadway classics which rules Indian theater. "My aim is to bring money to Indian theatre so that acting becomes a profession rather than a hobby” – the artist says.

Anahita started working as a stage artist at the age of 12, working with mother’s troupe. She completed psychology and sociology from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai and then trained in directing, acting, music and dance at Herbert Berghof Studio, New York and worked for a while before she returned back.

She worked as an assistant director to Gloria Muzio and Joe Dowling in New York for 15 plays. She has worked with Oscar and Tony award winners like Jason Robards, Judd Hirsch, Eli Wallach, Robert Sean Leonard and Mary Steenburgen. Chaos theory, Noises Off, Class of ’84, Seascape with Sharks and Dancer, Going Solo 1, Going Solo 2, The Glass Menagerie and Kabaret are some of her best performances.
