Alok Rajwade Biography 
Alok Rajwade is an actor who appears in Marathi and Hindi films. He is also known as a play director, singer and painter. Alok earned initial recognition through award winning short Bhojpuri film Udedh Bun (2008) where he played male lead. It was his first acting role and an academic short film of the debutant director Siddharth Sinha. Udedh Bun (2008) became the first Bhojpuri film to win Silver Bear for Best Short Film at Berlin International Film Festival in year 2008. It also fetched National Film Award for Best Short fiction Film. After his debut he has appeared in a series of Marathi films as well as plays, apart from a few film roles. He currently plays lead roles in Marathi films. He is married to Marathi actress Parna Pethe.
Alok Rajwade was born in Pune on 7 February 1989. He was raised in Pune where he spent his school days and teens. While doing his graduation at Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce, he was quite busy with theatre. Later he became one of the founding members of the Natak Company. He acted and also directed a few plays in association with this theatre company. Rajwade's first major play was in Abhraham Lincolnche Patra. It was a Marathi Adaptation of Abraham Lincoln's Letter. He gained recognition as a play director when his Marathi play Geli Ekvees Varsha won Best Play at an International Theatre Festival in Italy.
Some of his noted plays include – Dalan, Aashadatil Ek Divas, Mi Ghalib, Sindhu Sudhakar Rum Aani Ittar, Geli Ekvees Varsha, Shivcharitra ani Ek where he played the role of a play director or actor. Rajwade won the Thespo's award for Best Supporting Actor for the play, Dalan. As a film actor he bagged his first lead role through Vihir.
