Akash Dasnayak Biography

Akash Dasnayak is a very popular actor associated with Oriya cinema, and a politician too. He is popularly known as Akash in the film industry. Akash has entered politics in the recent times, and serves as an MLA of Korei Constituency representing BJD party. As an actor, Akash Das Nayak is best known for Odia movies, Subha Vivaha (2010), Shapath (2012) and Satya Meba Jayate (2008). He remained a successful model too. He joined film industry in 2008, and received state award for best actor for his debut film, Kalinga Putra.

He was born on 17 September 1981, in Jajpur Road, Odisha. Mayadhar Nayak and Indira Das are his parents. His aunt Anita Dash was a veteran film actress. He completed his LLB from Vyasnagar College, Jajpur Road. Kalinga Putra in 2008 marked his debut in the film industry. He played the role of an honest police officer in the film, which helped him to bag Odisha state award for best male actor. He was facing camera for the first time in his career for this movie, and hence received praises from all corners for his stunning performance. Satya Meba Jayate was his second release of the same year.

Raju Awara in 2012 remained one of his most successful films in his acting career. Audience went gaga over him after the film release, and he cemented his position in the film industry. A heartthrob of many, he has acted in around 20 movies before he joined politics. He is a strong devotee of Lord Jagannath and Siridi Sai baba, and believes that his success in life is due to the blessings of Jagannatha.
