Ajay Singh Chautala Biography

Ajay Singh Chautala is a senior politician from Hissar belonging to Indian National Lok Dal. Aformer parliamentarian, he is the son of Om Prakash Chautala, Chief Minister of Haryana, and also a grandson of Chaudhari Devi Lal, a former deputy prime minister of India, who served as the CM of Haryana twice. His son, Dushyant Chautala, currently a member of parliament is the youngest Member of Parliament in the history of Indian democracy.

Ajay Singh Chautala was born on 13 March 1961 in Chautala, Punjab, now a part of Haryana. He was born into a family with deep roots in state and national level politics. Political heir of famous Chautala family, he is the son of former CM of Haryana, Om Prakash Chautala. He is married to Nayna Singh Chautala, and the couple has two sons. Nayna Singh currently serves as MLA from Dabwali. Their first son Dushyant Chautala currently serves as MP representing Hisar constituency, while the second son Digvijay Chautala serves as National President of INSO. Ajay Singh holds a graduation and LLB degree, and he joined politics in the late 1980s.

He became a MLA of Rajasthan for the first time in 1989 representing Data Ram Garh, and for the second time from Nohar in 1993. In 1999 he joined Lok Sabha for the first time representing Bhiwani, and after completing the term of 5 years, he joined Rajya Sabha as MP from Haryana. In 2009, he became MLA from Dabwali. Currently his wife is holding this seat. Though he owned an illustrious political journey, he was not free from controversies too. His name was included in the infamous Recruitment scam, in which his father Om Prakash Chautala was given ten years imprisonment.
