The Indian clothes are very attractive and longer lasting. They are made of many types of materials both natural materials like cotton and wool and artificial materials like polyester, chiffon, punam, georgette, etc. The Indian clothes vary according to the region and culture. There are variety of colors, textures and pattern in Indian clothes. Any foreigner would gaze at the colorful attire of the people here.

Tailored clothing is very common feature in India. There are so many tailors in all the places and they will custom stitch the clothes for you. You have to buy the pieces of clothes and order them to be stitched. Usually Indian sari does not need any stitching because it is a single piece of cloth. These days, there are more types of Indian clothes such as Lehenga Choli, Salwar Kamees, Sari, Ghagra Choli, Chaniya Choli, Kurta, Afghani Suit, Pyjama, Sherwani, Jodhpuri Suit, etc. The party wears and bridals wears are also these types of clothing but with more decoration in bright colors.

Due to the impact of western culture men in India these days wear western suits. They usually wear trousers or pants with half sleeve or full sleeve shirts. Men’s dresses are also available readymade or could be custom stitched. There are bridal dresses, party dresses, designer dresses, etc. Men in their traditional dresses during parties and weddings wear turbans on their head.

Though western culture has influenced the fashion style in India, during the cultural events and religious festivals and special occasion, men and women of India always prefer to wear traditional Indian clothes and traditional pieces of jewels. The embroidery works especially hand embroideries and other hand works like zardoshis, sequin works, mirror works and chamki works add more value to the Indian clothes. These value added unique Indian clothes are exported to many parts of the world from India and they receive grand welcome in all the places. This is simply enough to say the worth of Indian clothes.
