Vishal Singh Biography

Vishal Singh is a television actor best known for playing youngster Sanju in the most popular comedy sitcom aired on Doordarshan in the 1990s, Dekh Bhai Dekh. Singh last appeared in the television series, Parvarrish - Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi, where he played the role of father as Jeet Ahuja. Currently he plans to direct his first movie.

 

A regular actor on television for more than 2 years, he was also seen in the television soaps - Indradhanush (1988-1989), Gul Gulshan Gulfaam, Professor Pyarelal, Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahi, Kashmeer, Ayushmaan, Ek Ladki Anjaani Is, Lipstick, Rishtey, Dekho Magar Pyaar Se, Astitva...Ek Prem Kahani, Bhabhi, Aathvaan Vachan and Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. He is one among those successful actors of Doordarshan in the early 1990s who later became successful and regular actors on soap operas.

 

He was born in Indore in 1975. He played a childhood role in 1982 film Rajput. In 1988, as a teenager he marked his debut on Indian television. The show Indradhanush aired on Doordarshan showed the fictional story a group of kids, who assemble a computer. It was director Anand Mahendroo who gave him his first break. It was followed by comedy sitcom Dekh Bhai Dekh which cemented his position as a young star in Indian television in the 1990s. He is still remembered for playing the popular character Sanju for the show. Later he experimented with various roles and became successful.

 

“Indian Television industry has grown in the past few years and has added glamour quotient to it. It was not the same case when I began the career”, says the actor. He wants to direct an action-emotion based commercial film. Sanju in Dekh Bhai Dekh to Yash in Ek Ladki Anjani Si, actor Vishal Singh still remains the eternal lover boy.
