Tina Dutta Biography

Tina Dutta is a Bengali actress most successful in television serials. She has worked in both Hindi and Bengali movies also. She is most known for her role as Iccha in the television show Uttaran. She has also anchored many Hindi TV programmes also. Her successful Hindi television shows are Comedy Circus, Koi Aane Ko Hai and Aahat. She has started her career at 5 years of age and has appeared in Aishwarya Rai’s Bengali movie, Chokkar Bali when she was 16. She has also done the role of Lolitha in successful Hindi movie – Parineetha (2005) starring Vidya Balan and Saif Ali Khan in the leading roles.

As a child, Tina desired to become air hostess. But destiny was something else and she became a television actress. Her successful television career paved way to cinema too. As a television actress, her major break was serial Uttaran on Colors TV since 2009. She played the role of the protagonist Iccha. As a Bollywood actress, her debut movie was Parineeta, similar to Vidya Balan. She debut as a teenager in this movie. She has also worked in Bengali movies – Choker Bali (2003) and Chirodini Tumi Je Amar (2008). She has been in relationship with Mahesh Kumar Jaiswal for one and half years, but the relationship broke off.

She has received best actress awards at Apsara award functions in 2010. Same year, she was chosen as Best Fresh New Face (Female) at Kalakar awards. She also received best actress award at 16th Lion Gold Awards. In 2011, for Excellence in Acting, she received All India Achiever's Award. She was also chosen as Most Lokpriya Jodi along with Nandish Sandhu at Colors Golden Petal Awards.

In the serial Utharan, she played the female lead role as Iccha Veer Singh Bundela (2009–April 2013) and Meethi Veer Singh Bundela (2012–present). She has been paired opposite Nandish Sandhu/Vikas Bhalla in this television serial. Since March 2012, she is doing the double role of both mother and daughter. In the serial Aahat, her character name was Alisha and she starred as lead in 2 special episodes of
"Shatani Kapda" in April 2010.
