Tarun Khanna (actor) Biography

Tarun Khanna is a popular and successful television actor associated with Hindi entertainment industry. He predominantly works in Hindi television, and has also done a few Hindi and Punjabi films. Mar Jawan Gur Khake, Pata Nahi Rabb Kehdeyan Rangan Ch Raazi, Dishoom and Mission 11 July are his film roles. His first film, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, made in 2002 was unreleased. Interestingly the movie belongs to the long list of movies made in the year, based on the life and life sentence of real life hero and revolutionary Bhagat Singh. His role as Raavan in Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev – mythological TV series was popular.

Tarun Khanna was born in 23 February 1975 in Delhi. He is married to television actress Smriti Khanna. They got married in 2012 and a son was born in 2014. Khanna is active in entertainment scene in 2001, and is most popular with mythological roles on small screen. His first film in a lead role, Shaheed Bhagat Singh went unreleased. It was a controversial time when so many films were made on the same revolutionary, Ajay Devgn and Bobby Deol, being other two main stream actors portraying Bhagat Singh on screen.

He got his first break through the TV show, Kabhi Aaye Na Judaai in 2001. He played the supporting role of Sameer in the show. He was later seen in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, CIB, Bhabhi, Agnipareeksha Jeevan Ki – Gangaa, Saara Akaash, Kohinoor, Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, Adaalat, Santoshi Maa, Karmfal Daataa Shani, Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush, Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev, Mahabharat, Rang Rasiya etc. The actor feels that television shows need better writing. Many of them are stupid and badly written – the actor says. He excels in the role of mythological characters, and most recently played Shiva on screen through the show, Namah in 2019.
