Suchitra Nair is a popular television actress associated with Malayalam entertainment industry. She is best known for essaying negative and grey shaded roles. She is best known for playing negative role, Padmini in the series, Vaanambadi. Started off her career playing mythological characters in television series, she achieved instant popularity through the series, Vaanambadi. She is a trained Mohiniyattom dancer too.

Suchitra Nair hails from Kesavadasapuram of Thiruvananthapuram city, Kerala . She was born to Vikraman Nair and Prasanna. She has one elder brother. She schooled from St. Mary’s Pattom and Central School. She studied Bachelor in Commerce from Mar Ivanious College. She loves music and dance as equally as acting. She got attracted to the dancing scenes of actress Bhanupriya in Malayalam movie, Rajasilpi during her younger days, and that’s how she got interested in dancing. She started formal training in dancing during her school days, and has been studying Mohiniyattam under Neena Prasad for last 8 years.

She got her first offer for television serials through her mother’s friend, and that’s how she did her debut role for the series, ‘Krishna Kripaa Saagaram’. She played the mythological character of goddess Durga in the series, for which she felt very happy. Later too she got several offers to portray mythological characters on mini screen. In between she won a beauty contest in Metro Manorama, and offers came pouring in. She belongs to a conservative family, and the family was not willing to accept it first, especially her elder brother. She is 28 years old now, and present status is single. She lives with her parents and brother in the capital city. She loves dancing a lot, and dreams a dream career in it.
