Shilpa Anand Biography

Shilpa Anand is a successful television actress and she works for Bollywood films as well. She is the younger sister of actress Sakshi Sivanand. She is also a successful model. She is best known from the television series Dill Mill Gaye where she portrayed the role - Dr. Riddhima Gupta. She appears in many stage shows and award functions performing on stage.

Shilpa Anand was born in South Africa and she studied at the Punjab University, obtaining a Masters in Computer Applications in 2003. Then she moved to Mumbai from where she started modeling and acting. Before working for movies, she has appeared in many television commercials of which her Coca cola ad with Aamir Khan was most popular. She has also worked as a model for ads – Sunsilk, Lux soap, New York Life Insurance, Moov, HTC, Nirma, Dabur Pudin hara and Bajaj Amla oil. She has also appeared opposite Amitabh Bachchan and Gulshan Grover in television ads.

As an actress she has worked for a few movies as well. She starred in Telugu movie Vishnu opposite Manchnu Vishnu in the year 2003. She was the Female Lead opposite Amarjeet Shukla in the Bollywood movie – Iqraar by chance, released in the year 2006. Her other Bollywood movies in the lead role are Deewane Ho Gaye and Alert 24x7.  Alert 24X7 was produced by Sanjay Dutt and she was casted opposite Ruslaan Mumtaz, son of yesterday actress Anjana Mumtaaz. This movie also casted Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon in pivot roles. She has also done minor roles in the movie industry. Best instance is her supporting actress role in Sirf in the year 2008.  She has also done Telugu movie – Bloody Ishq opposite Aakash; she was the leading heroine and the movie was released in the year 2012.

Her television serials are Dill Mill Gayye (2007 – 2008) and Teri Meri Love Stories (2012) as Meera. Teri Meri Love Stories is telecasted on Star Plus and she was casted opposite Karan Singh Grover and Viraf Patel. She essayed the role of Viraf Patel’s wife in this daily soap and her performance was widely appreciated.
