Raveena Tandon Biography

Raveena Tandon is an Indian actress who has won National Film Award. She worked mainly for Bollywood movies but she has also appeared in some of the Tamil, Kannada and Telugu films. Her debut movie was Patthar Ke Phool in the year 1991 which won Filmfare Lux New Face Award. She gave many box office hits during 90s such as Mohra, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Ziddi and many others. Her film Daman: A Victim of Marital Violence by Kalpana Lajmi won her National Film Award for Best Actress in 2002.

She was born on 26^th October 1976 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Her parents are Ravi Tandon and Veena. She studied at Jamnabai Narsee School in Juhu and at Mithibai College. When she got an offer from Shantanu Sheorey to act in film, she dropped out of college and started to pursue her film career.

She adopted two children Pooja and Chhaya as a single mother in1990. During the production of the film Stumped she fell in love with Anil Thadani and married him in Jag Mandir Palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan on 22^nd February 2004. Her daughter Rasha was born on 16^th March 2005 and son Ranbir was born on 12^th July 2007.

She acted in Mohra in 1994 and Dilwale in 1994 and both of them were huge commercial successes at that time. She also acted in Imtihaan and Andaz Apna Apna in that year. She went cross with Karisma Kapoor quite often in sets of the film. She starred with Shahrukh Khan in the film Zamana Deewana in 1995. Some of her other films are Saajan Ki Baahon Mein, Rakshak, Ek anari Do Khiladi, Vijeta, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Ziddi, Daava, Vinashak – Destroyer, Keemat They Are Back, Salaakhen, Rajaji, Jai Hind, Anari No.1, Dobara, Sandwich, The laboratory, etc.

She served as the chairperson of the Children’s Film Society of India from 2003 to 2005. She signed on to support the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. She is a famous model and appears in many advertising campaigns.
