Ruma Sharma Biography

Ruma Sharma is an Indian model and successful television actress. She is best known for playing the character Ridhima in MTV’s most popular youth Show - Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan. Some characters make an impact on viewers’ mind even though the role is short. Her character in Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan is one such. She got amazing responses from her first episode itself and she was a ‘surprise pack’ of the series. She was earlier seen in Savdaan India, CID, Fear Files and Shapith; mostly crime, horror and detective series.

Ruma belongs to a Brahmin family from Delhi who currently stays in Mumbai. She was raised by her single mother and she stayed with her mother’s family. Her mother’s family has a strong educational background. She schooled at Lovely Public School in Delhi and currently pursuing her graduation in Delhi University. She studied at National School of Drama Teenagers Group. Her mother has been a government school teacher. But she quit the job to focus Ruma’s career in acting. Ruma never dreamt to become an actress, but her mother’s passion. Her family has been very supportive to her career. As a child she wanted to become a doctor and was quite fascinated by teaching job, seeing her mother as a teacher.

She was only 6 years old when she appeared on stage for first time to do a play. She played lead role and it happened in Shri Ram central auditorium at Delhi. She was seen in an episode of a television serial on Star Gold, followed by Jasoos Vijay and a show aside Rajat Tokas on Doordarshan. She did many shows for DD1. She concentrated on to her studies even while quite active as a child artist. After schooling she came to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting.
