Ravish Kumar Biography

Ravish Kumar is a celebrity TV anchor and star journalist who works with NDTV India, one of the leading Hindi news channel of Indian television. He hosts some of the major shows such as Prime Time, Hum Log and Ravish Ki Report. He is a senior executive editor at NDTV India at present, and one of the most celebrated TV news anchors at present. He has also authored one book "The Free Voice - On Democracy, Culture and The Nation". Ishq Mein Shahar Hona, Dekhate Rahiye and Ravishpanti are other published books. He is also a popular blogger. He was honoured with best journalist of the year award by Mumbai Press Club in 2016.

 

Ravish Kumar was born on 5 December 1974 in Motihari, Bihar. His studies were completed in Deshbandhu College, University of Delhi and Indian Institute of Mass Communication, where he completed post-graduate diploma in Journalism. His higher education was completed in Delhi. He is married to Nayana Dasgupta, a lecturer at Lady Shri Ram College who teaches history.

 

Ravish Kumar – this well-known media personality is mostly associated with topics like Indian politics and society and is best known for his monologues on NDTV India's Prime Time. He was honoured with prestigious Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Award for Hindi Journalism and Creative Literature for 2010 from the President of India. He is also a recipient of Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award twice in 2013 and 2017 for the broadcast category in Hindi language. Throughout his career as a journalist and anchor, though he remained an influential figure in Indian television, he has also faced some controversies, the recent one about the unofficial conversation of PM Narendra Modi with Bollywood star Akshay Kumar.
