Rahul Easwar Biography

Rahul Easwar is a star anchor and host of Malayalam television known for his oratory skills. He is also an author, activist, a speaker and a popular young iconic figure across Kerala for his intellectual thoughts. He is the winner of Malayalee House in Surya TV, Malayalam version of celebrity show, Bigg Boss. During the show, his intimacy with his house mate Rosin Jolly was well criticized as he was already married. But later it proved to be a hype to increase the TRP ratings of the show. Rahul is married to star anchor of Malayalam television, Deepa Vijayan. He has appeared in one Malayalam movie - Atheetham (2007). He is to play the lead role of a biopic based on romantic poet, Changampuzha Krishna Pillai’s life. The movie is being scripted and directed by Balram Mattannoor.

He is a resident of Thiruvananthapuram. He was born to Easwaran Namboothiri and Mallika Namboothiri. His grandfather Kantararu Maheshwararu is the Senior Thantri (Supreme Priest) of famous Sabarimala temple. He was born abroad and his childhood days and studies were completed there. As both his parents were employed, he got opportunity to live in different places. He started his television career in the early 2000’s, when musical channel Kiran TV had just come to existence. Though his smartness, knowledge and perceptions, he came to be known as the intellectual anchor of the channel. He anchored the good morning show of the channel for many years.

He also participated in many television discussions on serious issues and gained public attention through his views. As an activist, he is best known for advocating casteless priests in temples and rights for everyone to know about Hindu rituals, despite being the fact that his grandfather is a senior thantri of Sabarimala temple.
