Pradip Somasundaran Biography 
Pradip Somasundaran is an Indian playback singer who came to limelight to singing talent hunt show of Doordarshan during middle 1990’s – Meri Awaaz Suno, where he along with Sunidhi Chauhan were declared winners. This program was the first one of this type aired on Indian television were winners were promised to get singing contract as well as many prizes. Thus he was the first winner of a reality show on Indian television. He won the "Lata Mangeshkar Trophy" for the best male singer in the program as well. Though he had a magical start, he was not able to reach that level what Sunidhi reached within a short period. Yet Pradip released a few private albums and has also sung a few Malayalam songs. His debut song was "Samayam Manoharam" in the film Ezhuthachan in the year 1993, before Meri Aawaz Suno happened, 3 years later.
Pradip Somasundaran was born on January 26, 1967 in Nelluvaya, Vadakkaancherry, Kerala. He started formal learning in music under Geetha Rani and later under V. Gopalan. He started performing on stage at the age of 16. His first break to film music was given by music director Ravindran. Great music directors like Ilaiyaraaja, Johnson and Mohan Sitara have also given him opportunities in Malayalam compositions. He has also released numerous private albums of which his devotional songs are immensely popular.
He has also sung a couple of Telugu songs for music director Sandeep Chowta. The songs are Chitti Aayi Re of Bujjigadu and Poolu Gusa Gusa of Saleem. A few of his popular Malayalam films are Punyam of Kalyanappittennu, Perumathodi of Mannadiyar Penninu Chenkotta Chekkan and Mohini Enikkayi of Manjeeradhwani. A few of his private albums are Ayyappathrippadam, Jeevan, Angel, Ennennum, Ayyappamayam, Kripa and Sangeetharchana.
