Manish Wadhwa Biography

Manish Wadhwa is an actor associated with television industry. He is also a voice over artist who dubs for live action films from foreign languages. He dubs for Hindi language. Though he has been associated with different forms of entertainment, acting is his true passion and he started off doing theatre. Later he was seen in a host since 1990s for the shows such as Shaktimaan, Chandragupta Maurya and Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev. He has dubbed for English movies such as The Chronicles of Narnia, Predators, Robocop etc.

He was born in Mumbai on 23 April 1972. Acting has been his passion since his younger days and he got associated with theatre. He participated in inter-college competitions and has won Best Actor award at University level, apart from gold and silver medals for acting. He was a part of the comedy show Khatta Meetha, which was staged in Mumbai circles in those days. In the 1990s he moved to television where he appeared as an actor and presenter. He also began his successful career as a dubbing artist and voice over artist. He started off with jingles for TV ads and later became a part of many Hollywood films dubbed to Hindi. He has done brief roles for Bollywood films, the most notable one being Mastaani in 2005.

He owns a successful career in television. He is best known for essaying the role of Chanakya in the historic series, Chandragupta Maurya aired on NDTV Imagine. His remarkable role as Chanakya bagged him Best Actor award in television category at Apsara Awards. He played the role of Shivanand in Maha Kumbh: Ek Rahasaya, Ek Kahani. He is quite successful with mythological and historic shows. Vishwamitra in Siya Ke Ram, Ajatshatru in Amrapali, and in Ravan Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev are a few among those. Throughout the years he has essayed both positive and negative roles. He won Indian Telly Awards 2012 best actor in lead role (Jury award).
