Krissann Barretto Biography

Krissann Barretto is a popular television actress and model, best known for playing Alya Saxena of Kaise Yeh Yaariyan aired on MTV. The very popular youth series starred Niti Taylor as Nandini Murthy, Parth Samthaan as Manik Malhotra, Utkarsh Gupta as Dhruv Vedant and Krissann Barretto as Alya Saxena. They together formed the central characters of the show. The actress was previously seen in Yeh Hai Aashiqui as Mona and Warrior High. She was also seen in Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya most recently in 2015.

Krissann Barretto was born in Mumbai in 1991. She did schooling from Apostolic Carmel School in bandra and graduated from the prestigious St. Xavier’s college, Mumbai. She started her career working as a model for ad films. She was seen in a Bangladeshi ad for Pepsi followed by a music video Behka by SQS Superstars. Later she entered television doing episodes of shows like Heroes, The Fightback Files and Yeh Hai Aashiqui on the Bindass channel. However it was the popular Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan on MTV which gave her instant fame and recognition. It is the no.1 youth show since it was aired in 2014.

She was doing her first year at Government Law College when she got the first television offer. After her debut in television series, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, where she portrayed the role of Mona, she received a few more offers. Thus she chose acting over law studies and got fully associated with television. If she had not become an actress, she would have become a lawyer, a wedding planner or dancer – the actress comments. She has a great passion of dancing and loves it as a form of fitness too.
