Karthik Jayaram Biography

Karthik Jayaram is an upcoming film actor of Kannada cinema, who is all set to play the role of Ravana for the mythological series - Siya Ke Ram on Star Plus directed by Nikhil Sinha. Earlier he has done one Kannada series - Ashwini Nakshatra, where he played the role of a Kannada superstar JK and rose to instant fame. His two-word dialogue, ‘Hai Hendti’ in the show Ashwini Nakshatra has become a popular catchphrase and made him popular among female audiences.

He has acted in a few Kannada movies – Eega, Kempe Gowda, Vishnuvardhana, Chandrika, Bengaluru 560023 and Care of Footpath 2 and has played lead role for Just Love. Karthik is one among those actors who have landed from big screen to small screen and have turned the small screen into a mega screen with their towering presence on it. Many of his film roles have been edited off in the final cut and he was not allowed to dub for his voice, stating that his voice is not good. But with the series - Ashwini Nakshatra, people like the depth of his voice when they hear on TV.

He was born on 1 May 1979 in Koppa. He has been a cricketer and now he plays in celebrity cricket matches too. He started off in films doing negative roles to know more about the tactics of acting and film making. His aim was to be a lead actor. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. So, when he was offered Ashwini Nakshatra and asked to play a superstar’s role in it, it was something like a dream comes true! He realized the real potential of the role and accepted it without any hesitation. The show was aired on Colors Kannada during the period - 2013–2015. His role as Superstar JK became an instant hit and many film makers approached him with offers. He is to debut Bollywood with Footpath 2, where he plays a cop.
