Hakim Syed Karam Husain Biography 
Hakim Syed Karam Husain was a prominent Unani physician from Tijara, Rajasthan. He was a direct descendent of Qazi Syed Rafi Mohammad. His family has contributed a lot to the world of Unani treatment. Both his sons, Hafiz Hakim Syed Atiqul Qadir and Hakim Syed Fazlur Rahman are also prominent Indian names in the field of Unani treatment. Syed Ziaur Rahman, nother great name in the field of Unani is his grandson.
Syed Mohammad Saleemuddin, also known as Buland Akhtar was born in 1870 in Tijara, Rajputana (now Rajasthan). After initial education in his hometown he moved to Meerut at the age of 14 years. At Meerut, he learnt Unani in detail from two leading practitioners ‘Hakim Mohammad Hasan Haziq’ and ‘Hakim Baldev Sahai’. Husain started practicing Unani at Tijara, Alwar in early 1893 and established his own Unani pharmaceuticals named Dawakhana Shifaul Amraz the following year. He became a personal Unani physician of Maharaja of Alwar Jai Singh Prabhakar.
He was a religious person and popularly known as Rais-e Tijara. He was a resident of Qazi Mohalla before Indian partition who bought seven Havelis at Tijara including the 'Haveli Qadeem'. Mount Abu and Delhi were his favourite places to visit. He has also been associated with many community and social works and has contributed to the organizations like 'Anjuman Khadimul Islam' and 'Jamiat Markaziya Tabligh-ul-Islam'.
He was interested in poetry and has penned a few with the pen name - Natiq (Takhallus). He has also composed many songs as well. Karam Husain went for Hajj pilgrimage from Tijara in January 1934, along with his family members and friends. Many of his family members have been associated with India's First War of Independence also.
