Gaurav Gera Biography

Gaurav Gera is an Indian actor most known for television serials in supporting and comic roles. He is better known as the ‘Best friend of Jassi’ as he played Jassi’s best friend, Nandu in Sony’s most popular soap opera, Jassi jaisa koi nahin. Other popular shows of Gera are Sanskruti and The Great Indian Comedy Show. He has also appeared in Bollywood movies, Kyun! Ho Gaya Na, Neal n Nikki and Dasvidaniya. He has hosted IIFA awards 2009 and the reality show Bathroom Singer. He co-hosted the reality show Hans Baliye along with Sunil Grover.

Gaurav was born on 23 September 1973 in Gurgaon, Haryana. He earned a diploma in fashion and worked for a while with a production house in New Delhi before moving to Mumbai. His debut role in television was the role of Laddoo in Life Nahin hai Laddoo, aired on Star Plus. Sanskriti in Star Plus was one of his successful roles in the first phase of his career. In 2003, he appeared in the geeky Nandu aka Nandan Varma in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin, which indeed was his big break in his career. He along with Jassy formed an amazing friendship, and people loved to see them repeatedly onscreen. His innocent looks and sincerity towards his friend Jassi made him one of the successful stars of the serial. Later he appeared in cameo roles in Woogie Boogie, Lapataganj, Hero etc.

His successful television appearances include - Baat Hamari Pakki Hai as Pappu, Mrs. Pammi Pyarelal, Babban Bhai v/s Bimla Tai, Ishq ki Ghanti (2006) and Ranvir Vinay Aur Kaun (2007). He has also appeared as Vinay, Vivek Oberoi’s friend, who falls in love with Aishwarya Rai in the movie, Kyon! Ho gaya na. MP3 - Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar, Neal 'n' Nikki and Woodstock villa are other appearances.
