Gajendra Chauhan Biography 
Gajendra Chauhan is a Hindi film and television actor, best known for portraying Yudhishthira in DD National’s Mahabharata. Though he has portrayed hundreds of character roles on screen, he is still known for this role on small screen. He is still active in small screen with character roles. Shobha Somnath Ki and Adaalat are his latest television serials. Andaz, Baghban, A Sublime Love Story: Barsaat, Andaaz, Tumko bhula na payenge, Vishwavidhaata, Mere Jeevan Saathi, Parwana, International Khiladi and Hogi pyar ki jeet are some of his Bollywood appearances. He is active in television since late 1980s and serial Mahabharata proved to be his big break to his acting career.
It’s quite surprising that Chauhan was first offered the role of Sri Krishna for television series, Mahabharata. He even shot the first two episodes for the show. However the project got delayed and he got concentrated towards south. When he returned back, he gained weight and was not suited for Krishna’s role. But he was offered the role of the eldest Pandava brother, which became the career breakthrough. The character of Krishna was later portrayed by Nitesh Bhardwaj.
Gajendra Chauhan started his acting career in the 1980s doing bit roles for movies. Mahabharata was offered to him in the year 1988. He continued with acting in Bollywood movies and Vaade irade, Pathreela Raasta, Dilwale Kabhi Na Hare, Dancer, Janam Se Pehle are some of his movies in the early 1990s. However he couldn’t gain big from big screen and he concentrated his full career to mini screen, which was indeed successful. He appeared in the popular series – Fear Files.
