Deepa Vijayan Biography

Deepa Vijayan is a successful television host of Malayalam television. She is married to noted TV anchor, speaker and activist, Rahul Easwar, grandson of Supreme Priest of Sabarimala, Thazhamon Madom Kantararu Maheshwararu. He has also published two books on philosophy - `Philosophy of Philosophy' and `The Philosophy of Education.' Rahul is also the winner of the programme Malayalee House in Surya TV, Malayalam version of Bigg Boss. Though known as a style icon and intellectual person earlier, after this show Rahul’s image was affected following his closeness with housemate, Rosin Jolly. But Deepa later supported her husband stating that she knows him better and all those rumours were spread to increase the ratings of the show. Deepa currently works as HR Business Partner at IDS in Techno Park, Kazhakoottam, TVM.

Deepa has excelled in academics and television anchoring. She is one of the most sought female anchors of Malayalam channels at present. Most recently she bagged the national ‘Empowerment of Women — IT’ award. She regards her mother Sobha and her husband as her pillars of success and strength. Though she received many film offers, she didn’t accept any, as she is interested only in anchoring. But she played a character role in Roshan Andrews’ Mumbai Police released in 2013.

As a successful anchor, she has been mostly associated with Kairali TV. She hosted Gandharva sangeetham – the music reality show on Kairali TV for many years. She also hosts events and attends inaugural functions of many leading showrooms of Kerala. She has also endorsed textile brands like Emmanuel Silks and has appeared in its commercial. She married Rahul in 2010 and supported him, when the whole world stood against him with the show – Malayali house.
