Ankur Nayyar Biography

Ankur Nayyar is an experienced actor associated with Hindi television industry. One of the early male stars of Indian soaps, he played parallel lead in early soaps such as Kasautii Zindagii Kay (2001-2001) and Kashmeer (2002) followed by lead role in Jeet (2003-2004). Later he played parallel lead role in many successful TV shows such as Reth (2004-2005), Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki (2006-2007), Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye (2006-2007) etc. He played the male lead, Samar Khanna in 2005 series - Kohinoor. He played antagonist role in the series, Virasat, Ek Boond Ishq and also negative shaded role of Indrajit in Siya Ke Ram. Now he mostly portrays character roles.

 

He hails from Pathankot, born in the year 1977. He joined television industry at a younger age. He made his television debut through “Kasautii Zindagii kay” in 2001, at the age of 24. He played the parallel lead of Subroto Basu in this series. Since then he played many prominent roles – both lead and parallel throughout 2000s, before he moved to supporting and antagonist roles. Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, Humse Hai Liife, Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev, Ek Boond Ishq etc are some of his recent roles since 2010s where he played supporting role. He currently plays the role of Indrajit in the popular mythological series - Siya Ke Ram.

 

He acted in a few Bollywood films too, and was mostly seen in the role of police officer. He played supporting roles of CID Inspector Bhatia in Detective Naani and Inspector Abbas in Singham. He made a brief appearance in 2005 film – Yakeen. He has been featured in a few TV ads such as Freedom Bike, NIIT, Kodak Film, Rotomac Pen, Maruti Alto, Nivea Cream, Doller Body WarmerL.M.L, Ponds etc.
