Sonu Shamdasani Biography 
Sonu Shamdasani is a London-based author, editor, and professor of Sindhi origin, born in Singapore in 1962. As an editor, he is best known for editing the book, The Red Book, a manuscript crafted by Carl Gustav Jung between 1915 and about 1930. He has also authored many books and currently serves as a professor at University College London. His writings focus on Carl Gustav Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology and lived between 1875 and 1961.
He is best known for editing the manuscript of Carl Gustav Jung titled, The Red Book which was not accessible for study until 2009. Its published version was also not available. Sonu Shamdasani made 13 years of exhaustive editorial work on this manuscript and with the cooperation of Jung's estate the book was finally published in 2009 titled - The Red Book: Liber Novus, with an English translation. The book also had three appendices, and over 1500 editorial notes written by Sonu Shamdasani. In December 2012, Norton additionally released a "Reader's Edition" of the work.
Sonu Shamdasani was born in 1962 in Singapore and grew up in England. He first encountered Jung when he was travelling in India in his teens, looking for a guru. His commentary to The Secret of the Golden Flower was his first encounter with the renowned psychiatrist. He felt that contemporary psychology and psychotherapy was in a mess, and he wanted to figure out the reason behind it. That’s how he started reading the history of psychology.
He co-founded Philemon Foundation in 2003 which published all of Jung's works. His collected works had been published in twenty volumes, while the unpublished manuscripts remained as such. Later he edited and published The Red Book. He started working on that book since 2000.
