Sudhir M. Parikh Biography 
Sudhir M. Parikh is an American physician of Indian origin, who has been honoured with Padma Shri in 2010 for his contributions to the medical field and social services. He is best known for treatment of Asthma and allergies. He has shared personal funds to many charity organizations like Share and Care Foundation, Nargis Dutt Memorial Foundation, and the American India Foundation. Through Share and Care Foundation, he has granted scholarship for the Indo American community between 1995 and 2005. He also remained a leader and member of many advisory boards for human cause. Pravasi Bharatiya Samman in 2006 and The Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2005 are other major honours received by him.
Sudhir M. Parikh is of Gujarat origin. He graduated in medicine from B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad after which he moved abroad for higher studies. He later earned fame as an allergist and immunologist, and has been practising in Highland Park, New Jersey for many decades. Moved to US in the 1970s, he started private practice in 1980. He also works at many hospitals in New Jersey, and is also an Assistant Professor at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Apart from known for his par excellence in medicine, he is also known for his social services. He founded Parikh Foundation in the 1990s, under which he is involved with many social activities including funding for hospitals and trusts, providing scholarships for students etc. He is also a founder member of the Indian American Republican Council (IARC), and the founder chairman of Parikh Worldwide Media, which publishes four publications. He is a member of American Academy of Allergy and Immunology and many other medical institutions of US.
