Partha Ghose Biography 
Partha Ghose is an Indian physicist, author and academician. He is also a musician and philosopher. He is best known for popularizing modern science in India, and one of the pioneers of present times. He received National Award for the Best Science and Technology coverage in NCSTC during 1986-1990. He is also a recipient of Indira Gandhi Prize for the popularization of science by the Indian National Science Academy. He was a member of the Working Group on National Language Policy, Knowledge Commission, under government department. As a musician and philosopher he is best known for his association with Rabindranath Tagore’s philosophy and music. He formerly served as Secretary of the Visva-Bharati Music Board too.
Partha Ghose was born in Bengal in 1939. He is known to be renowned professor and philosopher, and he has authored several books too. He was a professor at S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences in Kolkata. Now he has retired from government service and teaching. As a physicist and musician he has given some significant contributions to both these fields. As a physicist he is best known for his contributions to theoretical physics, particularly the foundations of quantum mechanics. His work on Bohemian trajectories of photons, unravelling the nature of wave–particle duality in single-photon experiments etc are some of his major contributions.
He has served as an administrator or director of several art and music institutions. He was the Secretary of the Visva-Bharati Music Board, Chairman of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata and also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata. He is an expertise in Quantum Physics, Mathematical Physics and Theoretical Physics. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy (Science) from Calcutta University 1968.
