Which Type Curtain Will You Choose For Your Interior?

 

A curtain has several uses – it is used to serve as a partition between two blocks, used to provide privacy, block excess heat and light to rooms and for decorating the interior. Curtains belong to soft furnishing – the ingredients that give final beauty touch to your rooms. Obviously curtains are fitted last, once all work is completed.

 

You can choose any type of curtains. Royal and extra pleated curtains suit only big rooms while simple cotton curtains suit any interior. Cotton curtains with buds, flowers, shapes and figures and leaves are still everyone’s favourite. Styles and fashion may change, trends may change, yet simplicity of white, pink or light blue cotton curtains never change. There are many uses for using light shade curtains for your interior. Light colours give pleasant feeling to eyes and coolness to mind. Light and air are reflected well and rooms appear spacious. But if your bedroom has disturbance from street lights or other light sources, you can use double layered curtain.

 

Silk, polyester, jacquard or cotton – if it matches the colour shades of wall and furniture it’s the best choice. Cream, peach, off white and golden yellow shades are everyone’s favourite. Net, shear, chiffon or laze type material suits inner curtain. Inner curtains can be used to shield light from outside completely. It can be used for decorative purposes as well. You can use tie-backs, knots, frills and design embroidery made of thread, silk or linen can be used for curtains. If such decorative are stitched at the hanging edge of curtains, it changes the entire look of curtains.

 

Blend is the latest trend used for kitchen. Earlier blends were used for offices only. Now they have conquered kitchen’s interior too. Now readymade curtains of desired colour shades and fashion are available. If you have silk saris in your almarah which you were not using for a long time, why can’t you make them a curtain? You can use them to decorate you living room for a family get-together too. When curtains are stitched from old silk or embroidery cloth, you can use the same cloth for upholstery work of cushions too. Royal, elegant but cheap!
