The Changing HR Landscape!

The present time HR landscape is a fast evolving and changing one. There was a recent article in the times of India regarding the sudden boom in out of the box jobs. By out of the box I meant super crazy jobs like being a dog walker or a facebook profile analyst. These jobs are not only there for fun but they pay well. The dog walkers’ job can fetch you anything between 100 to Rs 250 a day. That is a salary of almost 3000 to 7500 a month. This is the same salary that a 12th standard pass student gets for slogging from day to night at a clerical job.

There have been a number of instances where people have posted jobs of video uploaders’, radio repairers and tyre changers these kind of out of the box jobs are seen mainly in metro cities where people earn high sums of money and can afford to spend it on useless things like dog walkers’ there is another class of people who actually take prestige as they are earning a sum for doing nothing. I was personally shocked to see this happen, students looking to get some extra pocket money and also get something to spend their time with.

Youngsters turn to such easy money as they do not have to do the harder jobs like wait at tables and intern for money. They can easily use their social networking skills and become video uploaders’ and social media managers. Since social media is soon catching up with the masses the job of social media managers is fast catching up. All they got to do is look for catchy one-liners and use them to gain more traffic to the website owners site. Thus for HR managers who will have to deal with the new generation it is going to be a challenge as they will first have to train them that easy money is not the thing that they will get in the corporate world. I wish luck to all the future HR managers for the same.
