It’s quite obvious that kids always prefer to choose their parents’ profession. Though in most cases, sons step on to father’s shoes and daughters love to prefer mother’s profession, there are also a few cases where sons prefer to choose mother’s profession. Bollywood is also not free from that. Through this article I would like to mention those names.

The first name that comes to my mind is Saif Ali Khan – son of former cricketer and Indian captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and star Bollywood actress of Aaradhana fame – Sharmila Tagore. Born into a royal family, he chose his mother’s career of Bollywood. When whole Indian youngsters dream to become a cricketer, the son of Nawab decided to find success in the world of entertainment. Though he struggled a lot in the 1990s, with Hum Tum in 2004 he became an established star of Bollywood and one of the most successful actors of present times – among the star mothers’ sons.

Next name is of course Mohnish Behl – the son of the legendary actress of Indian screen Nutan. Born into the prominent Mukherjee-Samarth film family, he is a relative of many leading stars of the industry including Tanuja, Kajol, Rani Mukherji, Ajay Devgan, Joy Mukherjee and Ganguly family as well. But unlike his mother, aunt and cousins he couldn’t find success and now he is seen doing supporting roles.

Ruslaan Mumtaz is an upcoming actor of Bollywood and son of the famous character artist - Anjana Mumtaz. He made his film debut with MP3 – Mera Pehla pehla pyar and now he is busy with television serials. The latest news is that son of actress Rati Agnihori - Tanuj Virwani has landed into the world of Bollywood cinema. He made his film debut with Luv U Soniyo in 2013. Unlike many sons of businessmen, he chose his mother’s profession. Rati Agnihori is best known as the heroine of Ek duje ke liye.

Before I conclude let me mention a few names whose parents – both father and mother are associated with Bollywood. Abhishek Bachchan – whose both the parents are established actors of Bollywood. Abhishek Bachchan’s mother Jaya Badhuri has been a leading actress in the 1970s. Farhan Akhtar’s mother Honey Irani is a leading scriptwriter of the industry while his father Javed Akhtar is a screenwriter, poet, lyricist and dialogue writer. Shahid Kapoor is the son of well-known actors – Pankaj Kapoor and Neelima Azeem. And last but not the least – Ranbir Kapoor – the son of the famous star couple Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh.
