What is energy? It is the power needed to do a certain work. Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed, but can be converted from one form to another; from matter to energy too and vice versa. • Use CFL instead of incandescent lamps.
• Use LED or LCD screen for computer monitor and laser printer instead of ink jet.
• Use CLG and LPG for vehicle. Switch off the power if you need to wait at a traffic signal for more than 2 minutes.
• Collect water in bucket and use a mug instead of using it directly. Water preservation is most essentially needed.
• Use cotton and paper bags instead of plastic covers. Paper bag that can be recycled is the best option. Use bottles again if you can.
• Less weight vehicles are simply the best. Use radial tyres and fill them fully with air.
• Use efficient electronic equipments with star rating. They reduce power considerably.
• Solar cookers, solar water heater and electricity from solar energy can reduce power consumption.
• Plant a lot of trees. A tree, in its life time absorbs 1 tone CO2,
• Function your AC in 25 degree celsious. Never open fridge door frequently. Switch off electrical equipments completely when not in use.

Take care of these things while constructing your home

Give importance to sunlight and air ventilation while constructing home. Place big windows in the direction of wind. If so, you need not switch on lights during day time. You can reduce the function of fans and AC too. Use light shades to colour your walls. Now passive solar design is also available. Floor, windows and walls collect sunlight and disperse it as per need in this construction. During winter, it gives heat and during summer, it disposes heat. You can use machines to convert solar energy to heat energy.
