Munna Bhai series in two packets have really started a new trend in Bollywood. When Lage raho munna bhai was released in the year 2006, the sequel movies was not a big trend in Bollywood. Though Munna Bhai MBBS and Lage raho Munna Bhai are two separate stories, many people including me went to theatre to see the extension of Munna Bhai 1. Though it was not so, I really enjoyed the movie a lot.  It is the case of every Indian who watched Lage raho Munna Bhai.

Munna Bhai was released in the year 2003 with Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani and Gracy Singh doing the pivot roles. A few actors like Jimmy Shergil and Rohini Hattangadi were casted in supporting roles too. Needless to see, the movie was the biggest hit of the year, winning National awards as well for popularity and viewership. Though the music was not the pivot of the movie, its timely comedy and flexible acting skills did the primary job. The screenplay was also powerful. Not only that, the story was fresh, never witnessed by Indians before and treatment was also special. When Munna Bhai gave a good message to society too, mentioning the important duties of doctors, it was an eye opener too as far as the values were concerned.

So, expectations were very high when its sequel was arranged. It went well with expectations and earned more than its prequel. Chemistry between Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi created magic onec again and Vidya Balan also did her job pretty well. When Vidhu Vinod Chopra made this movie with Rajkumar Hirani as director, expectations of audience was kept in mind. They tried to bring something fresh and new similar to Munnabhai MBBS.

Gandhi giri was made its subject. Through the movie, it was well preached that principles of non-violence and patience can do a lot of impossible things if we are patient enough. By placing Gandhi as a character at present times, it generated a lot of suspense it. It’s very hard to see, which one is the best. If someone asks my opinion, I would prefer to say that both these movies are classics in the 2000’s era of Bollywood.
