Living room is the heart of a home. It’s the most lively place of a home where all members spend a lot of time. It’s the same place where guests are received. In most cases, living room is the biggest room of your home too. Now, family living rooms are also constructed.  

A decade back glass showcases filled with decorative was the fashion. Now those days have gone. Now it’s the time of curios and a few crystals or expensive items placed in niche. Showcases have almost disappeared from our interior. A few niches in your living room where you can place a flower vase or glassware is the latest trend. Mirrors can reflex the beauty of your interior, make it spacious too. According to Chinese Vasthu, mirrors reflect our fortunes and make it double.

It’s also possible to dedicate a full wall for safety glass. It is very strong and durable. If a wall with direct contact to garden is given glass, it creates an echo-friendly atmosphere and closeness to nature. It allows maximum sunlight to enter your rooms. If you have enough money in hand, you can do wooden flooring in a particular area of your living room to give a traditional touch. Wood paneling can be done in both ceiling and floor.

Double height ceiling is another attraction. If you fix big chandeliers in the ceiling it adds extra beauty to your living room. Heat inside such living rooms is considerably low; gives good air ventilation and sunlight also. But construction cost may be slightly higher.  

Now imported treated wood is used for constructing settee, chairs and other furniture items for living room. Treated wood resists damages and is durable. It is cheap compared to teak and other real wood items. Bamboo chairs can also be used. Throw cushions of bright colours and good upholstery work can change the entire look of your interior. Upholstery work, rogues, carpets and curtains come under soft furnishing. Actually, it’s the cloth for your living room. If done in art, your living room will simply be the best.

Now foyers have also conquered our interiors. It’s a small area in between sit out and living area used for strangers and guests with short visits. It is used for official meetings too. Mural paintings placed in living room as well as foyers have become a trend most recently.
