Madhuri Dixit is regarded as the dancing queen of Bollywood and through her fast steps and body language, she has conquered millions of hearts. Till now, she and her dance numbers remain as fantasy among millions of Madhuri Dixit. Most recently, at the age of 46, she has given a hit item number for the blockbuster ‘Yeh jawani hai diwani’. What’s so special in her dance numbers? Why do choreographers take extra effort to give her unique dance steps? Only reason is that, she conquers any difficult step so easily and hence choreographers also try their best to make use of her dancing skills. After all, Madhuri is a trained classical dancer too. Through this column, let me list a few finely choreographed songs pictured on Madhuri Dixit.

Ek do teen: Ek do teen Madhuri – This song has given her the biggest break in Bollywood cinema. Though she was there in Hindi movies, she was noticed for the first time through this song and the movie ‘Tehzaab’ of 1988. From there on started the successful pairing of Anil Kapoor and Madhuri!

Dhak dhak karne laga: This song was released 21 years ago in 1992. Yet this song increases the heart beats of Madhuri fans. Again, this lovely pictured sizzling number belongs to Anil Kapoor and Madhuri!

Maar dala: When costume was designed for her first for this song, it was too heavy for her to wear. Later another green costume was designed and this lovely song of Devdas is best among the songs of Madhuri after 2000.

Dhola re: This unique song of Devdas is remembered most for the appearance of two screen goddesses together – Aiswarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit. It’s not easy to say who is more beautiful or who danced gracefully.

Akhiyan milao: Though Sanjay Kapoor danced along with Madhuri Dixit in the movie ‘Raja’, whole eyes were on Madhuri Dixit only.

Oh jaane jaana: Akshay Khanna and Madhuri Dixit. Though the movie was a big flop, people remember it for this plagiarized song lovely choreographed on Madhuri.

Aaj na chodunga: Dil is one among the best movies of Madhuri and craze of campus. The song pictured as a competition between Madhuri and Aamir Khan is still a favourite of everyone.

Mera piya: This song of Yarana won that year’s best choreographed song too (1996). Kavitha Krishnamurthy lovely sang this song perfectly for Madhuri.

Key sera: For the first and last time, best dancers of Indian screen shared the same screen and it happened in 2000 for the movie Pukar - Prabhudeva and Madhuri Dixit.

Maine kiya pyar saat samandur: Though the movie Rajkumar was a big flop, this song was a hit. Anil Kapoor was its hero.

Dance of envy and Koi ladki hai: List is incomplete without the dance oriented movie ‘Dil to pagal hai’ and for the first time, Madhuri and Karishma Kapoor shared the same screen for ‘Dance of envy’.

It’s not at all easy to list the best dance numbers to Madhuri, as 90’s fully belong to her. So, please excuse me if I have missed your favourite dance number.
